Anti-swine flu suit hits the racks in Japan

The first suit advertised as reducing the risk of H1N1 or swine flu goes on saleĀ  today in 272 stores across Japan. Ryugo Yamamoto, spokesperson for Haruyama Trading Co., says the suit will sell for 52,290 yen ( US $589).

"Laboratory experiments proved that molecules of viruses were actually dissolved three hours after they adhered to the fabric," said Yamamoto. The suit incorporates titanium dioxide nanoparticles that break down the virus under ultraviolet light.

This is cool. To think that the fabric and ultraviolet light work together to rip a virus to shreds. Amazing what humankind can come up with.
