Methane from waste water to power treatment plant


waste_treatment_plant.jpgA new waste water treatment system that produces its own electricity is under development in Australia. The technology uses methane from waste treatment to produce about half the electricity needed to power the plant. A pilot plant is being used to show councils and water authorities the system works and saves money.
