Accelrys to help pharmaceutical companies register biological entities

accelrys.jpgAccelrys, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACCL), the leading provider of scientific business intelligence solutions, announced today the formation of a collaborative development agreement to create a solution for the identification, registration, storage, searching and Intellectual Property (IP) protection of biological entities.

Biological registration systems are inherently more complex than existing chemical registration systems which are commonplace in the pharmaceutical industry. Accelrys, in discussions with leading pharmaceutical companies, has established that many organizations have struggled to solve this problem due to the dynamic nature of biological entities. The collaborative development model allows Accelrys to leverage the collective knowledge and expertise of the participants to establish requirements while using proven Accelrys expertise and platform technology to develop a solution.

“Accelrys is a company with a rich history of collaborative software development with our customers,” said Mark Emkjer, Accelrys President and Chief Executive Officer. β€œThe development of the Biological Registration suite of database entities and applications is another example of how we are continually working to develop innovative Scientific Business Intelligence solutions to provide expanded applications and commercialize those solutions for our broader customer base.”

Phase one of the collaborative software development effort includes identifying the requirements for the registration of biological entities. Accelrys expects additional pharmaceutical companies to join the effort in subsequent phases of the collaboration.

Green Technology forum is a very good site. We can share our opinions, problems and we will get remedies for our problems. That attracted me a lot.
